We come to it at last! The great sowing of the season! It's time for me to unlock the potting shed, cut open seed packets, and tear open bags of compost. The season starts now!
Brilliant read for a novice! I’m just starting out my veg growing journey so it’s great to read all this simple advice. May I ask when you say plant out and cover with fleece can you explain what you mean? Cheers 👍
Thank you very much! Really appreciate you letting me know you enjoyed it. When I plant out the young crop plants into my raised beds (outdoors) I lay horticultural fleece over the top, weighted down with a few cobbles. The fleece provides insulation, a little extra warmth, protection from cold winds and heavy rain. I’m growing more vegetables this year so this is so useful!
Ah, thank you Sophie. I’m sure you’ll have a bumper crop with all your seed seed sowing experience! 💚
I hope so!

Ah I see. Was wondering how they continue to grow covered up? Do you lift in through the day or leave it over them?
They continue to grow. The fleece is translucent and allows a lot of light through 👍
Another informative read, thank you Elliott.
Thank you for reading Helen!
